If you're reading this, two things have happened. Our website went live, and Brightline officially exists outside of my sketches, Notion docs, Figma files and Mike's sheets and project plans. We are very excited to start a new chapter and share our journey with you.
So, hello there. I'm Miška, the designer half of Brightline. The other half is Mike, who keeps the business side calm while I focus on proper spacing, kerning, contrast or layout. Together we built a small design and strategy studio for people who want their websites and brand to actually mean something. And this is officially our first blog post. So if you allow me, I’m going to tell you the story of Brightline.
Why we started Brightline
I spent more than ten years inside a marketing agency, and I loved a lot of it. I learned how teams operate, how clients think, how to deliver under pressure, and I met many amazing people — professionals in their field — who became not just colleagues, but friends. But through all of it, I kept coming back to the same feeling: I wanted design to be at the center of the work, not an add-on to it.
We made things look good, sometimes really good. And for a lot of clients, that is exactly what they need. The agency model works well when the goal is speed and scale. But over time I started noticing a different kind of client. One who wanted to understand the thinking behind the design, not just receive the file. Who saw their website or brand as something worth slowing down for. As I grew as a designer, I realised that is who I want to build things for. That is who Brightline is for.
The truth is, design is not decoration. It is one of the first things people use to decide whether to trust a business. When it has real thinking behind it, when it connects to the bigger picture, it does something much more than look good. It makes people feel understood. I kept thinking about how different that could feel if we just slowed down by one or two steps. Talked to the client first. Understood the audience. Drew a wireframe before opening Figma in full color mode.
So with Mike's support and experience, we decided to build the studio that treats projects as they deserve. We built Brightline.
What we actually do
At Brightline, we design and build websites in Webflow, refresh brands, and create graphic and UX work for businesses that want to grow with intention. The deliverable looks almost the same as what most agencies offer. The experience around it is where we add value.
We start by understanding your business. Your goals. Your audience. The things that drive you slightly mad about your current setup. From there we move into strategy and wireframes, because those are the steps that make the final design actually work. After each phase, we sit down together and walk through what we have made and why. No surprise reveals, no mystery boxes, no big "ta-da" moments where you wonder if it's too late to change anything.
You are the expert in your business. We are the experts in how to present it. When both sides treat each other as equals, the work gets really good.
Who we are for
We work best with purpose-driven businesses, founders, and agencies who see design as a strategic investment rather than a cost to negotiate down. People who care about their customers, who give honest feedback, and who treat the relationship as a real partnership.
We are probably not the right fit for projects that need to be done by yesterday with no brief, or for anyone whose first question is "can you make it cheaper". And that is okay. There are plenty of studios for that, and we could even recommend one or two.
We have been lucky to work with clients who genuinely get this. Our friends at Efectfit have become some of our biggest advocates, and our partnership with E-techium shows what happens when a digital agency and a design studio actually trust each other's craft. Both relationships started with one shared idea: do it properly, or do not do it at all.
Why us, in plain language
We are small on purpose. You talk to the people doing the work, not a chain of account managers. We care about details, from the first impression on the homepage to how a button feels under your thumb on a phone. We do not inflate hours. We do not pretend strategy is a luxury. We show up, ask good questions, and build things that hold up over time.
We are also human. We laugh with you in meetings. We care about how you are doing. And we are curious people. We love going to concerts, exhibitions, we explore the world and fuel our creativity with the things that are around us. Not just screens, docs, and computers.
What's next
This is the first post, but it will not be the last. We have a lot we want to share. The messy middle of projects, the decisions nobody sees, the moments where something finally clicks. What it actually feels like to build something properly, from scratch. We are just getting started.
If any of this feels like your kind of energy, the easiest way to keep up is to follow us on LinkedIn, Instagram and X. That is where we share our work, our process, and the little wins that make all of this worth it. We would love to have you along.
Thanks for being one of the first to read this. This is the beginning of something we have been building toward for a long time. It feels really good to finally be here.
Miška, on behalf of Brightline
Got a project in mind?
We work with businesses and agencies who see design as a real investment. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear what you are working on.
